THE RISE OF HARIS AFTAB
Roots in Sport and Family
On the streets of Copenhagen, in a family bound by sports and discipline, a young boy dreamt of greatness. His father, a cricketer who represented Denmark on the international stage from 1995 to 2007, passed on the values of hard work and resilience. His brother handed him his first pair of gloves. But it was bullying at school, the taunts, the fights, the need to prove himself, that gave Haris his first true reason to step into the ring.

A Fighter From the Start
At just seven years old, boxing became more than a sport. By the age of nine, he was no longer just a boy with gloves; he was a fighter making his first appearance in the ring. Denmark quickly witnessed the spark of a talent who would reach the finals of the national junior championships again and again.

Setback and a Pause
But every fighter’s story carries shadows. Despite many victories, Haris endured a painful setback: a fight he won was judged a loss. The injustice cut deep, and for a time he walked away from the sport. From 2022 to 2023, he shifted his focus, completing his high school education, but the hunger never truly left.

Return of the Flame
The turning point arrived in 2023. His father’s words lit the flame again, and Haris returned with renewed determination. At just 19, he accepted a challenge against a seasoned 29-year-old Ukrainian opponent. Experience was on his rival’s side, but courage and heart belonged to Haris. In the second round, his fists spoke louder than doubt and he won by knockout. The victory announced his comeback in emphatic fashion.
